Hello girls! 6 weeks ago I decided to take a new habit: get up very early in the morning and walk 4km fast before starting my day ... And you know what? It makes me crazy! Today I will tell you more about this experience!
Since the beginning of this year, I am really in a "healthier life" approach. I try to eat a lot healthier by significantly reducing meat and sugar in our diet and focusing on vegetables. But beyond food, it's really a change in depth that I'm living. It must be the "quarantine" that wants that. I am going to review my way of life as a whole, one would say 🤔 ... I coexist a lot on what I want for my daily life and for my future and that of my children. I try to be more active and less suffer what is "imposed" ... For example, I almost no longer watch TV (only one TV evening since January 1!) And I favor reading, suddenly I discover myself full of new and very inspiring interests ❤ ....
On a cold February Sunday, I thought about doing more physical exercise .... I really feel a loss of tone for a year and I often have back pain. I try to set up a "sport routine" for the last 2 years, but it's a habit that remains difficult to anchor .... I had hooked on the 7MWC application but I got tired of it .... I started in February a nutrition and sports program which I will talk about soon. To start this program well, I wanted to improve my cardio ... It's really my big weak point, I have little stamina and I run out of steam quickly, which causes me a disgust for sports activities like running ... hate running 🙈 One day, I talk with my hairdresser who tells me that she walks an hour every day for a year, that it changed his life, that it takes a lot of pleasure .... And there, THE revelation for me!
Yeah, if you do not like running ... then walk !!
It seemed like a good alternative. Then came the question "yes, but when? with my sick days? "... because the problem with this type of activity is that it always ends up after everything else ... In the beginning, it's the priority and then one day we say we really have no time and that We'll catch up the next day ... We start to skip days and this nice new habit is found relegated in the depths of our schedule of wonder women to finish in small digestive walk of Sunday afternoon ....
The safest thing was to just start my day with this new activity / habit .... Last year, I used to get up very early and it was very appreciated: the days seem longer and especially I am full of energy in the morning. In the fall, I began to retreat more and more the time of waking to finish up at 6:30 am .... Since I started walking, I get up again around 5:10, I get dressed quickly and before 5:30 I'm out and I walk ... I started the day that followed without asking too much question. I put on a jogging suit, my Gazelle and my parka ... Because if you have to wait for the perfect equipment: sports leggings, windbreakers, sneakers .... we never start! And the goal was not to shop but exercise!
The first day was pretty hard 🙄. The pace was steady (for me), I was doing the 4km in 45 minutes so I was out of breath, my joints hurt (rusty), my nose ran, I was hungry, thirsty .... in short the complete panoply ... I started again the next day, with more aches ... This time I drank herbal tea before leaving, it warmed me. It must be said that when I started the temperatures went from 0 to -8 ° C ... .. Then the third day, I was less breathless, less rusty, it began to please me ... After a week j I was hooked, rejoicing in the evening at bedtime for my walk the next day!
Unlike JJ Goldman, I do not walk alone 😂, I'll be too scared ... at 5:30 in February it's still dark night! But what pleasant sensations to see the village wake up slowly, fresh air, invigorating and the joy of taking a good shower and a nice breakfast back ... Me who usually is never hungry in the morning! Here I go for a squeezed orange juice, a slice of chicken breast, cottage cheese, a real breakfast (me who was "allergic" to salty in the morning 😉) ... .Then at 7am at daybreak, I fart the form obviously! This of course involves going to bed early .... 21h30 or 22h max for me .... but I appreciate this new rhythm ... .I am really full of energy in the morning, I will be able to fell mountains! I feel light and much more toned ...
Some tips for "good" walking:
keep straight: at first, we tend to put the upper body forward and out the buttocks .... you must make yourself stay upright.
the shoulders stay slightly behind but relaxed
the look in the distance and not on the ground
head straight and not down
use all the leg muscles, not just the calves
put your foot forward, put the heel flat first and gently and then unroll the foot to the toes. When you put the left heel on the ground, you must feel the toes of the right foot push the ground and propel you. One trick for pushing the ground is to imagine showing the underside of his soles to the person who follows.
swing your arms (certainly ridicule does not kill ... but you understand why I'm walking at 5am?), it gives impetus and you will walk faster!
start slowly and then increase the pace after a few minutes of warm up to hold 30 minutes of brisk walking and then slow down again in the last minutes
Once the 4 km passed finger in the nose (no more breathlessness, runny nose, body aches etc), I told myself that I could increase the distance 🤔. And then thinking about it, I said no, finally. Because I do not want performance, competition with myself, challenge ... I do not want to aim higher because what interests me is to hold on the duration ... I prefer "little" ... but every day, without exception. Because in the end, 4 km each morning, it is still 1500 km over a year ... that I will not have traveled before .... So that's my real goal: to last for the duration ... .❤
And you girls? Have you managed to anchor a "well-being" or sporting routine in a sustainable way in your thousand-minute lives? I would like to share with you about this ... Know how you did to keep in time, at what time of day or week you practice? Your keyboards!
I embrace you very much, and I wish you a very beautiful day! 😘
